Richard B. Hostetter, MD, FACS
Surgical Oncologist
Dr. Richard Hostetter is a board-certified general surgeon with a special certificate in surgical oncology. He specializes in treating complex cancers of the head and neck, gastrointestinal, lung, liver, esophagus, bladder, soft tissues, skin, and male and female endocrine glands. Dr. Hostetter is a well-respected and valuable surgical resource to Cancer Care Partners’ treatment teams and at the Goshen Center for Cancer Care, where he is the associate medical director.
Dr. Hostetter earned a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisburg, Va., and completed his Doctor of Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va. He went on to become a fellow at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. His surgical residencies were performed at Chicago Medical School's University of Health Sciences and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Hostetter has published and presented nationally and internationally on topics ranging from breast, esophageal, pancreatic and colorectal cancer, to spiritual healing and the role of faith in medical practice. He also serves as a clinical assistant professor of surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine.
